Friday, 27th November 2009 (2256 views) A handmade Swiss watch featuring a pure gold version of the insignia for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) has been presented to the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago.The Cimier wrist watch was created to mark the country's hosting of the summit, which runs from November 27th to November 29th, News Day reports. Prime minister Patrick Manning was given the watch by Vijay Eswaran, executive chairman of Hong Kong-based firm QI, at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Port of Spain. The other heads of state attending the CHOGM will also receive a Cimier watch featuring the conference's logo. According to the news site, a Cimier watch incorporating pure gold is worth up to TT$15,000 (£1,445). Cimier watches were first produced in 1924 by the Swiss firm Lapanouse. The CHOGM takes place every two years to discuss the global, political and economic issues affecting members of the Commonwealth.
