Friday, 27th November 2009 (2216 views) An exhibition of Egyptian gold that recently opened at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto has been a success so far.The King Tut: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs event opened on November 24th and has attracted crowds of visitors who have been enthralled by the gold objects on display, according to the Canwest News Service. A similar exhibition was held at the AGO in 1979, but the currently display is twice the size of the previous one. Some of the items on show include golden sandals, jewellery, furniture and statuary found in King Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922. "The sculptures are wonderful - and the fineness of the jewellery. The craftsmanship is unbelievable," said AGO member Robin Leigh. Visitors can view the artefacts until April 18th 2010. The exhibition was organised by National Geographic, Arts and Exhibitions International and AEG Exhibitions, together with the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities.
