Thursday, 23rd July 2009 (1043 views) An exhibition of timepieces made by one of the oldest watchmakers in the world has opened in Beijing, with one gold watch being described as "exquisite".Vacheron Constantin's exhibition at the Beijing Sun Dong An Plaza opened last week and displays close to 20 luxury watches. One of the exhibits, the World Time 18-c pocket watch, is "known to many Chinese people" and features gold numbering, according to China Daily. Other watches on show include the JMV 1755, a replica of the first known pocket watch created by Vacheron Constantin, and the Les Historiques range. The exhibition will travel to Dalian, Anshan, Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin, Qingdao and Shanghai as part of its current visit to China, as well as visiting more locations throughout the country next year. Jean-Marc Vacheron founded Vacheron Constantin in 1755. The brand's products follow the standards set out by the Hallmark of Geneva, which include technical and quality specifications.
