Gold Grey Cup ring "gorgeous"The news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Monday, 22nd June 2009 (1476 views) The gold ring commissioned to celebrate Calgary Stampeders' victory in the 2008 Grey Cup has been praised as "gorgeous" by one of its recipients.Sandro DeAngelis, who was the team's kicker when they won the Canadian Football League championship in November last year, told Canwest News Service that it meant more to him than almost anything else in his life. "Quite honestly, other than my family members and my son, it's the most beautiful and tangible object I own," he remarked. The Grey Cup itself and the Stampeders' horse logo feature on the face of the ring, which is valued at around C$16,000 (£8,459). Its physical worth is greater than that of the arguably more prestigious Super Bowl rings given out by the National Football League in the US, with the New York Times revealing earlier this month that US$5,000 (£3,051) is allocated to the production of each one of those bands.
