Monday, 8th June 2009 (1049 views) A number of gold pieces are among the items being put up for auction in the US next week.Skinner is hosting the event in Boston, Massachusetts on June 16th, with fine jewellery being showcased. Included will be an 18-c gold antique brooch from Tiffany & Co, which depicts a cherub playing a violin and is expected to fetch between $2,000 (£1,250) and $3,000. A Patek Philippe watch dating from around 1922 is also being offered, with Skinner expecting the rare 18-c piece to sell for $10,000 to $15,000. Other gold highlights include several pieces from Georg Jensen, among them a pair of 18-c earrings and an 18-c wristwatch. An 18-c Patek Philippe watch is also going up for sale in London this week, with Bonhams describing it as one of the greatest ever made. The item is expected to fetch between £200,000 and £300,000, with only four such pieces having appeared at auction.
