A number of pieces of gold jewellery are on show as Damas showcases its latest bridal collection in Saudi Arabia.

The jeweller is holding an exhibition at the Damas Les Exclusives Boutique in Riyadh, the Khaleej Times reports.

Among the pieces are sets including gold rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces, and the event, which began this week, is running until June 19th.

Deputy managing director of Damas Tamjid Abdullah explained that the designs are intended to "make dreams come true" on a woman's wedding day.

"Each of these latest bridal collections is designed to be unique in their concept and execution - displaying the very highest standards of craftsmanship," he was quoted as saying.

Earlier this week, US president Barack Obama's first visit to Saudi Arabia was marked with the presentation of a gold necklace by King Abdullah.

Known as the King Abdul Aziz Order of Merit, the necklace is the kingdom's highest honour.
