Tuesday, 2nd June 2009 (1213 views) A number of gold items have taken awards at an event held to recognise jewellery design.The Couture Design Awards were part of the recent Couture jewellery show, National Jeweler reports. Among the winners was Barbara Heinrich, the designer taking home the Best in Gold prize for an 18-c sculptural leaf necklace. Pamela Froman also received an award for her work with 18-c gold, as her Crushed Melange wedding set was named Best of Bridal. A watch made from the precious metal saw Milus win the Best of Timepieces prize, while the news source noted that gold cufflinks from Sevan Bicakci achieved victory in the Best of Mens Jewelry category. Earlier this week, Pandora announced the launch of a new range of 18-c gold pieces in the US. The LovePods range - which includes necklaces, bracelets and rings - appeared in Europe last year, but was not available in North America.
