Delamina is showcasing the gold jewellery designs of Akiyo Matsuoka, who uses elements of nature as inspiration.

Her collection comprises "simple, delicate and sculptural pieces" and she describes the items in it as "utterly feminine".

Based in California, Delamina is targeted at women and features a range of 20 jewellery designers with around 1,000 separate pieces available.

Ms Matsuoka said: "I love creating pieces that reflect different aspects of nature, such as a leaf, twig, vines, or the moonlight reflecting off of water."

Beginning her career in the early 1990s, she works primarily using 18-c gold from New York City and has connections to Japan and the Caribbean.

In related news, Spanish jewellery brand Carrera Y Carrera has unveiled a range of pieces from its Ava, Sol Y Sombra and Te Quiero gold jewellery lines, each of which was inspired by Hollywood icon Ava Gardner.
