Thursday, 7th May 2009 (1780 views) A designer from Islington, north London, has won a television contest with a collection of gold jewellery.Sarina Morris entered the Jewellery Channel competition at the last minute and said her win was "completely unexpected", according to the Islington Gazette. "I have always been interested in accessories and have made jewellery for myself in the past but I never knew if anyone else would like it," she told the newspaper. The 29-year-old submitted three rings, drop earrings and an earring and pendant set, with some of the designs crafted in 18-c gold "for the luxury market". Ms Morris, who is also a painter, will now see her collection manufactured and sold and has been appointed as a freelance designer for the Jewellery Channel. In related news, jewellery designer Elsa Peretti has presented some of her items to the British Museum as part of an exhibition marking her 35-year collaboration with Tiffany & Co, the Times reported.
