A rare gold watch made by Rolex is set to go under the hammer at an upcoming auction in Geneva, Switzerland.

The 18-c gold piece, signed Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, was made in 1959 and features 25 jewels, a bronze-coloured dial and a bracelet.

It is expected to fetch in the region of CHF40,000-60,000 (£23,415-£25,123) when it is sold as part of the Important Watches sale at Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues on May 11th.

Also up for grabs on the same day is an 18-c gold pink gold chronograph, another watch manufactured by Rolex.

The unusually mid-sized piece, dated 1942 and valued at CHF25,000-35,000, has a pink dial and comes with an original Rolex Switzerland box.

More Rolexes are scheduled to be sold over the course of the day than any other watch brand, although Cartier, Patek Phillippe and Omega will also be well represented in terms of lot numbers.
