Thursday, 16th April 2009 (1241 views) Organisers of the latest MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show have reported that a total of 35,000 visitors attended the event this month.The five-day exhibition in Sharjah took place at the Expo Centre between April 7th and 11th 2009 and attracted gold jewellery companies from around the world. Golden gifts and prizes were on offer to the thousands of visitors who attended this year's show, with "good prices" available on jewellery items and timepieces, according to the event organisers. Mohammed Al Midfa, director general of Expo Centre Sharjah, said: "We did expect a good turnout of visitors this year. But what was unexpected was the long queues even before the official opening hours of the show." The 26th MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show featured almost 450 master jewellers and craftsmen in 16,000 sq m of exhibition space. Countries represented by pavilions at the event included India, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Lebanon.
