Monday, 6th April 2009 (1891 views) Damas is operating a grand promotional scheme for jewellery at its 22-c gold boutiques in Dubai to mark the Indian Hindu festival Akshaya Tritiya, the company has revealed.Celebrated by the Tamils in south India on April 27th this year, Akshaya Tritiya represents eternal prosperity and success and gold buying is part of the annual festivities. Damas has also created a range of white and yellow gold jewellery for the festival, including a special two-strand necklace and earrings designed along traditional lines and inspired by the flower Rangoli. Tawhid Abdullah, Damas Jewellery managing director, commented: "Indians form a large percentage of our buyers and as the worlds largest consumers of gold jewellery we are happy to present specially created collections having a rich ethnic flavour." The 22-c gold scheme by the jewellery company runs from April 14th to 30th 2009. Meanwhile, more than 450 jewellers and craftsmen will display their products at this year's MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show in Sharjah between April 7th and 11th.
