The winners of the February National Jeweler Best Of competition have been announced, including a number gold jewellery designers.

Richard Krementz Gemstones won the contest with a series of sculptural designs in 18-c gold, with runners up including Jane Wullbrandt, Krikawa Jewelry Designs, Mathon Paris and Noam Carver, the magazine reported.

Highlights from the finalists for the Best Of coloured-stone jewellery award included an innovative 18-c rose gold Juicy Liquor engagement ring from Krikawa Jewelry Designs and a gem-set yellow gold ring in the shape of a frog from Mathon Paris.

National Jeweler editorial director Whitney Sielaff commented: "The quality, creativity and inspiration of the designs was stellar. These pieces were gorgeous and the use of the materials was highly imaginative."

The people's choice winner, selected by online voting, was Armenta for a yellow gold bracelet set with emeralds.

Meanwhile, a new collection of gold jewellery and paintings by artist Yogendra Sethi has gone on display at the National Arts Club in New York this month.
