Monday, 9th March 2009 (2616 views) The Turkish gold jewellery sector is in a strong position and is set to continue growing, it has been claimed.According to the chief executive of jewellery manufacturer Goldas, Sedat Yalinkaya, the country could become the market leader for creating quality pieces from the precious metal, Today's Zaman reports. "Turkey is in a very successful position in terms of workmanship and design," he told the paper. He stated that a strong culture of jewellery making combined with advances in marketing and design has put the country at the forefront of the sector. Furthermore, Mr Yalinkaya suggested that the number of Turkish designers has increased with "gold jewellery experts on every corner" in the country. Established in 1993, Anatolia-based Goldas launched a number of new collections last year. An autumnal range was inspired by Venus, the symbol of love and beauty, while the summer season saw the arrival of a number of ethnic-style gold pieces.
