Thursday, 22nd January 2009 (1813 views) Jeweller Saretta has created a series of one-off and limited edition jewellery pieces that are inspired by nature. The new Floral Collection is hand-crafted by the firm's founder and creative director Sarah Bond. According to the French Guide des joailliers, Bond uses the lost-wax technique, in which designs are created in wax and then cast into gold, to craft the jewellery pieces out of gold, inspired by her childhood growing up in the English countryside. "Surrounded by flowers and nature growing up I am forever fascinated by the complexity of something so delicate as a garden flower," she explained. Each piece of Saretta gold jewellery is bespoke or limited edition and hallmarked at the London Assay Office. Bond incorporates a range of different jewellery making techniques in her work. In other news, Delhi-based jewellery designer Alpana Gujral has launched her new La Bella Mascherata collection, inspired by the Venetian masquerade.
