Deep Blue Marine has reported that it has entered into an agreement with goldsmith Allan Baird to run its new Gold Buying division.

According to the company, the long-term contract will enable it to use everything it salvages to make a range of artefact gold jewellery.

Mr Baird has 34 years of experience in the jewellery sector and is skilled in 3D computer modelling and he will also work on 3D archeological modelling at the firm's sites.

Wilf Blum, Deep Blue Marine president and chief executive, stated: "Allan will be very busy not only buying gold but also designing and creating the artefact jewellery that the company plans to make."

Deep Blue Marine has reported that it has applied for licences to open a new Gold Buying division, which will result in a second website and a retail outlet from its Midvale, Utah offices.

The exploration and treasure recovery firm is based in California and is focused on the development of recovery sites and wrecks.
