Wednesday, 17th December 2008 (1854 views) Jewellers in the US are reporting that 'classic styles' are proving particularly popular with customers this festive season, a survey states.According to interviews with jewellers across the country conducted by National Jeweller magazine, many holiday shoppers are opting for classic designs "in the $500 (£323) range". Frank Molteni of DB Ryland and Co in Bristol, Virginia, states that he has been selling a lot of gold bracelets by designer Alwand Vahan this Christmas and JC Jewellers owner Jan Case in Jackson, Wyoming, reports that customers are interested in "high-carat, highly-textured" yellow gold. Meanwhile, John Anshus of Anshus Jewelers in Menomonie, Wisconsin, tells the publication's annual holiday weekend round-up that unique fashion pieces have been his strongest sellers, including gold necklaces, bracelets and chains. Recently in the UK, Chris Green of Crystalink in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter explains to the Birmingham Post that jewellers appear to be defying the economic downturn over the festive season as a result of strong gold prices.
