Tuesday, 9th December 2008 (1849 views) Gold jewellery dating from the 18th and 19th centuries is being exhibited by the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio.The museum has curated a show featuring items from the collection of Nancy Levine from Florida. Radiant Ensemble: Jewellery from the Nancy & Gilbert Levine Collection will be on display in the Glass Pavilion of the Toledo Museum of Art until March 1st 2009 and features gold jewellery pieces crafted in England and France between 1785 and 1885. More than 150 sets and items of jewellery, including rings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches, are being exhibited courtesy of Mrs Levine, the widow of a professional pianist. The promised gift to the Toledo Museum of Art is one of the most important collections of European jewellery dating from 1785 to 1885. Meanwhile, gold fragments from the hilt of a seventh century Anglo-Saxon sword found in a field in Market Rasen have been placed on display at The Collection in Lincoln.
