Paula Mendoza has unveiled her latest gold jewellery and gems collection during a charity auction in Mexico, including a new range, Lemuria.

Based in Washington DC, the Colombian-born jewelley designer said that she was delighted to have been able to help out a charity through her work.

"I feel so fortunate that my work, which is something I love, allows me to participate in an event directed towards the encouragement of dignified causes," she added.

The collection of gold jewellery and gems was launched in Mexico in an auction on behalf of the Association of Down of Monterrey by Mexican jewellery firm Mompox Joveros.

During the auction in Monterrey on November 27th, a number of stunning gold pieces by Ms Mendoza from her Lacuna, PMC and new Lemuria collections were sold.

Paula Mendoza launched her first jewellery collection in 2003 and she has stated on her website that her pieces are intended to "celebrate both the power and the beauty that lies inside of each woman".
