An array of exquisite gold jewellery was on display at the Malaysia Jewellery Festival 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.

Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the 14th Malaysia Jewellery Festival attracted some top local and international jewellery brands, the Malaysia Star reports.

The event took place between November 21st and 24th and is the biggest annual jewellery event in the country, with more than 250 domestic and international exhibitors and thousands of buyers in attendance.

With the theme Mystery Black and Shiny Gold this year, the annual fair featured stunning catwalk shows of gold jewellery and gems and competitions with fine jewellery prizes.

Exhibitors hailed from countries as diverse as Hong Kong, Poland, India and Sri Lanka and the festival was organised by Hong Kong-Asia Exhibition Holdings.

Meanwhile, the annual Brilliantly Birmingham festival is taking place in the Midlands city between November 28th and December 21st showcasing the work of local, national and international jewellery designers and makers.
