Turkish jewellers will be attending the country's third International Jewellery, Silver & Watch Fair this week.

Also known as Gold Ankara 2008, the trade fair will feature 75 companies, many of which sell gold jewellery both nationally and internationally, Today's Zaman reports.

Alibey Simsek of jewellery firm Balaban told the newspaper that his firm is currently number one in Turkey in terms of 23-c gold production and forecast that the weekend would attract large crowds to the show.

"Since the best place to present these designs is a trade fair, we are expecting important results from this," he stated.

The jewellery fair is being held at the ANFA Altinpark Expo Centre in Ankara and will showcase some of Turkey's best examples of gold and jewellery design.

Meanwhile, more gold goods, including high-end jewellery and watches, will be on display at the luxury Millionaire Fair, taking place in Istanbul this weekend.
