Tuesday, 4th November 2008 (1912 views) Paloma Picasso has unveiled a new range of gold jewellery that has been inspired by mosaics. The collection by the daughter of Pablo Picasso for Tiffany & Co uses a range of mosaic techniques that date back centuries. Called Zellige, the new range features 18-c gold earrings, pendants and bracelets with geometric motifs made. Paloma Picasso, an experienced jewellery designer, explained that a tiled fountain at her home in Marrakech helped to inspire the new line. "Jewellery is about timelessness," she stated. "A piece of jewellery is here to stay much longer than a dress or gown." The French/Spanish designer and businesswoman told the Canadian Press that she has a pair of hammered gold ball earrings and a pair of white gold earrings with diamonds that she never leaves home without as they enhance her appearance. One of the world's top jewellery brands, Tiffany & Co was established on Broadway in New York in 1837.
