Tuesday, 16th September 2008 (2290 views) International jewellery house Damas has designed two new collections in anticipation of the Eid celebrations, it has been reported.Arabic and Islamic culture has been used as inspiration for the new ranges. Among them is the Crystal Aya pendant that features the world's smallest complete rendition of the Qur'an. Its centrepiece is a crystal on which the holy text is inscribed with a laser, framed in 18-c yellow or white gold. The Al Manthoura line - that the firm claims is based on the grace and beauty of Arabian women - represents Arab traditions and consists of tassels, chains and intricate patterns weaved in 21-c gold. Managing director Tawhid Abdullah remarked: "We extend our warmest greetings to the entire Arab world as we celebrate the holy month of Ramadan." Meanwhile, the government in Dubai recently unveiled an initiative to attract tourists to the area to witness the Eid celebrations, according to the Gulf News.
