Thursday, 4th September 2008 (2629 views) Gold jewellery will be on display at an exhibition in New Delhi this month.Traders from areas all over India, such as Mumbai and Jaipur, will assemble to show off their latest designs at the three-day-long Jewellery Wonder 2008 event, according to Punjab Newsline. About 100 merchants and manufacturers from ten states will be showcasing their products in a 32,000 sq ft area, the news provider said. It is the fourth annual event of its kind. Organiser Vijay Verma claimed the show is expected to draw up to 18,000 trade visitors and that it is being supported by leading jewellery wholesalers, the site stated. Meanwhile, demand for gold items in India remains high as the 12-day Ganesh festival commences and the country gears up to celebrate major Hindu religious holidays such as Diwali and Durga Puja, when gold is often given as a gift, reported Reuters.
