Thursday, 14th August 2008 (2740 views) PNG has won the award for Best Gold Jewellery of the Year 2008 at the recent National Awards for Excellence in Jewellery held in Mumbai.This is the third year in a row the jeweller has won the prize. Over 5,000 jewellers in India entered the many categories hosted by the awards, which are facilitated by the Retail Jeweller magazine. The winning piece was a gold necklace called Bella which was created to resemble a jasmine flower. Saurabh Gadgil, partner at PNG, said: "This necklace is designed in such a way for multipurpose use for today's woman - modern look with traditional qualities." PNG said the design of the necklace was also created to symbolise the confidence, aspirations and personality of a modern and traditional woman. This year the jeweller has celebrated it 175th anniversary and established itself in the city of Pune in 1958 where it now has four showrooms.
