Monday, 11th August 2008 (1965 views) A man has been found guilty of theft and given a C$500 (£244) fine after inadvertently returning to the scene of his crime.In 2006, Jonathon Troy Hart walked into a jewellery store in Portage La Prairie, Canada to get his gold jewellery cleaned. However, the employee who served him recognised the gold watch he was wearing as one she had given to her husband and was subsequently stolen from their home six months previously. She asked if Mr Hart wanted to get his watch cleaned along with his other items. When he agreed, she found her husband's initials engraved on the watch along with the unique serial number. The unnamed employee then called the police. Mr Hart claimed he had bought the C$800 watch for C$25 from an acquaintance. In other news, four men have been given a three year jail sentence in Qatar last month after stealing QR3 million (£429,772) worth of gold from a jewellery shop in Doha.
