Monday, 11th August 2008 (4224 views) A new range of jewellery has been unveiled in advance of the Indian Hindu festival Rakhsha (or Raksha) Bandham, reports JCK India.Jewellery house Tanishq have named the range the Tanishq Light Weight Fashion Collection. The gold jewellery comes in a variety of pieces including pendants, rings and earrings. According to Tanishq, the items have been created using a process called electro-forming. The company said: "The jewellery is targeted at customers who are looking for international designs, wearability and value for money." With 112 stores across 75 cities in India, Tanishq is the country's largest jewellery retail chain. Its collections span both western, traditional and fusion designs. The Raksha Bandhan festival is one which honours specifically the relationship between sisters and brothers. During the celebrations, a sister will tied a rakhi - a silken thread - around the wrist of her brother in representation of the protection he gives her and the brother returns the gift with a pledge to protect her.
