Tuesday, 5th August 2008 (2275 views) A Thai company has launched its 24-carat gold jewellery range in India, reports the Financial Express.Pranda Jewellery Public Company is 35 years old and launched its Prima Gold and Prima Art brands in southern India on Monday. Chairman of Prandam, Prida Tiasuwan, said the company has chosen to open in India as the country's market has not yet tapped into the 24-carat gold jewellery sector and so there are opportunities for it to cash in. In addition, the website said Mr Pranda added: "The economic prosperity of the 40 per cent of people under the age of 25 in India is the potential market for pure grade 24 carat gold jewellery." The highest purity of gold in India is currently 22-carat. Pranda said it hopes to achieve annual sales of 50,000 pieces from Prima Art and 300kg in Prima Gold. Along with necklaces, earrings and bracelets, Pranda also creates and sells gold commemorative images of Buddha.
