Friday, 11th July 2008 (2180 views) Approximately £40,000 of jewellery and other items has been stolen in a spate of burglaries in Nottinghamshire. One break-in in Trowell resulted in the theft of a gold, diamond-encrusted Rolex watch and a gold Rolex ring, as well as a satellite navigation system and a Dolce and Gabbana watch. The total amount stolen was estimated to be worth around £35,000. The house, on Stapleton Road, was entered through a ground-floor window. Another burglary saw around £1,500 worth of belongings, including an 18-carat gold ring, taken from a home in Stapleton. Electrical items and other jewellery were also taken by the burglars who again entered the property through a ground-floor window. Another resident reported an attempted break-in, where the burglars were foiled by a secure window lock. Local police are investigating these and other robberies in the Stapleford and Trowell area to see if they are linked. Meanwhile, a man in Mansfield, Ohio, was found with a $5,000 (£2,500) gold and diamond ring which has previously been reported stolen. Police said the man's address was on Diamond Street in the town.
