Some 22 up-and-coming designers will demonstrate their unusual jewellery designs at the Tendance Autumn and Winter event.

Each designer has set out to create something "which breaks with convention and tradition", reports jewellery firm Circular Keystone.

One of the new talents, Insa Grotefendt, has incorporated plastic into her gold designs, which the publication claims makes her creations incredibly light.

The jeweller's pendants feature printed plastic and "turn photographs and pictures into pieces of jewellery".

According to the news provider, Susanna Loew's baubles centre on folding techniques and are worked until they are "paper-thin and fluid as fabric".

"This makes it possible to give pure gold and pure silver detailed folds and organic structures," Ms Loew stated.

Meanwhile, Vishal Kanubhai Vaghasia from Mumbai was recently named the winner of the Dalumi Group competition entitled When the Source Turns into Inspiration.

JCK India reports that his pieces feature yellow and white diamonds in gold settings and will form the basis of the new Dalumi collection.
