The Indian Pavilion at JCK 2008 is currently showcasing gold from the country at the annual event in Las Vegas.

Running from May 30th 2008 to June 3rd 2008, the Indian contingent will display a range of gold and other jewellery from the country, JCKIndia.com reports.

It notes that the 32 per cent of the $19.79 billion (£10.08 billion) in exports of jewellery from India in 2007 were to the US.

Sanjay Kothari, chairman of the GJEPC, said: "JCK has always been a positive experience to showcase India's ability to provide jewellery that meets world standards. [With the] US being the major export destination, this show offers a pro-business environment to further penetrate the Indo-US business pipeline."

He added that styles are introduced and standards set for the future at JCK, with the event being a major show for the Indian jewellery industry.

Speakers at the event include hip hop pioneer Russell Simmons.
