A collection of "dainty" new watches for ladies featuring a rose gold case has been launched at Swiss watchmakers' event Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) 2008, it has been announced.

The Da Vinci timepieces, from fine watchmaker IWC, are designed to incorporate luxury gold and diamonds with a clean, practical design that can be worn every day.

A tobacco-coloured dial highlights the watch's rose gold hands, the company said, while the "warm colours" of the gold are also complemented by an orange crocodile leather strap.

Four of the rose gold designs in the Da Vinci collection also come with different dials and precious stones set in a range of patterns. One of these models features a pink dial, rose gold hands and a pink satin wriststrap, as well as 106 diamonds.

SIHH first took place in 1991. This year, the invitation-only expo is running for six days and features 16 high-end exhibitors including IWC, Alfred Dunhill, Cartier and Montblanc.
