Wednesday, 9th April 2008 (2490 views) Luxury jeweller Breguet has unveiled its High Jewellery collection of watches at the BaselWorld Watch and Jewellery Show in Switzerland, according to reports.ViaLuxe says according to the jewellery house, the collection reflects the "tour de force appeal" high-jewellery watches currently enjoy among consumers, the company said, while creating watches that marry art, design and luxury with quality timepieces. Designs for the new pieces were drawn from the history and culture of France, Breguet's home country, as well as splendour and style of Marie Antoinette and Versailles, it added. Leading the new collection is the Marie Antoinette Fleurs watch, which includes an 18ct silvered gold dial and mother of pearl overlay. It also includes an orchid design laid out in various shades of pink diamonds, the company said. The watch's self-winding mechanism is housed in a white gold casing adorned with diamonds, resulting in a "lavishly ornamented" timepiece, it added. Over 2,000 exhibitors are showcasing watches, jewellery, precious gems and related products at BaselWorld 2008, which runs until April 10th.
