It is the first time MMTC has brought the show to Chandigarth, which is located in the north of India and serves as the capital of two states - Punjab and Haryana. According to the newspaper, the move is a response to a growing demand for non-traditional jewellery products from Indian consumers. It will also help MMTC to establish itself in the north of the country. The trading company, which was set up by the government in 1963, recently announced that it would build a new gold refinery and manufacturing plant to produce its gold coins, as well as unveiling plans to open a chain of stores across India to sell its products. The Festival of Gold will take place in Chandigarh from April 11th to April 14th.
