Gold jewellery among new Mother's Day designs

Monday, 10th March 2008 (3228 views)

Gold rings, necklaces and crochet designs are among the pieces on offer from the Mother's Day collections offered by Middle East international jewellery retailer Damas, according to reports.

Dubai City Guide says the Damas collections, which coincide with Mother's Day in many parts of the Middle East, include pieces design to add "drama and elegance" to any outfit.

They include 18ct gold crochet designs from Italian designer Calgaro, which uses traditional weaving techniques to produce its hand-made pieces.

Also included in the spring designs are Moon ring and necklace twin set, which comes in pink gold from Baraka.

Rose gold and cognac diamonds are featured in another piece - Mimi's Adamas ring - while the Adamas necklace employs white gold and rose cut diamonds.

Noted jewellery house Faberge has also produced a range of rings, necklaces and earrings in white gold, blue French enamel and diamonds.

Rosato, which the site says is a favourite of celebrities including Demi Moore, has also produced a range of jewellery incorporating "gold of every hue".

Other jewellers included in Damas' spring lines are Annamaria Camilli, Genero and Pasquale Bruni.

The first Mother's Day was celebrated in the United States of America in 1908.
