Antique gold in for spring, jewellery expert saysMonday, 10th March 2008 (3141 views) Matte and antique gold finishes will replace the "bling" of crystals and gems this spring, as jewellers look to warm colours and layered designs to see out the winter gloom, the vice president of sales with jeweller lia sophia has said.Bonni Davis said jewellery will remain popular in the season's new fashion trends, with bold, gold pieces set to make the "hot list" this spring. And while antique and matte gold will be big, Davis also said that consumers should not be afraid of mixing metal finishes, like silver and gold. Other key features of spring's hot jewellery, Ms Davis said, will include layers of length using medallions, charms and chains, warm colours such as orange, pink and turquoise, and cut-out detailing. Perhaps most of all, this spring's fashions will be about bold statements and "more is more", Ms Davis commented. "The bigger, the better," she said. Fashion jeweller lia sophia was founded by US entrepreneur Victor Kiam, who also owned the New England Patriots American football team and was famous for his catchphrase, "I liked it so much, I bought the company!"
