Monday, 4th February 2008 (4374 views) A new gallery at the upcoming Bangkok Gems and Jewellery Fair (BGJF) will celebrate the characteristics of purple gold and gems, according to reports.The gallery, which will be called Purple Evolution, will feature 15 unique collections from some of Thailand's leading jewellery houses. Among the exhibits is the Tree of Siam, a piece designed in purple gold to showcase advances in the durability and contamination resistance of the material. It will also feature the Dragon Fish by Pranda Jewellery - which interweaves gold with amethysts - and two rings, Russian Hills and Previous Claw, made of 18 ct white gold with amethysts centres. In addition, there will be rare purple gems from Madagascar and the Sala Design gallery, which will avant garde designs. The annual Bangkok Gems and Jewellery Fair attracts more than 1,500 exhibitors and 30,000 buyers from over 30 different countries. It will run from February 27th to March 2nd.
