People who make a gold jewellery purchase during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) could win one kilogram of gold during each day of the event, the Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG) has announced.

The scheme, entitled Win With the Winner, will be open to all consumers who purchase a minimum of AED 500 (£69) worth of gold jewellery at any participating DSF outlet.

Each customer will receive a coupon, which they can then enter into a daily raffle to win a kilogram of gold.

"Research shows that most visitors who come to Dubai purchase gold as the city provides excellent quality and variety of jewellery at the world's best prices," said DGJG chairman Tawfique Abdullah.

A total of 32 kilograms of gold will be awarded during the festival, which is in its 13th year.

According to DubaiCityGuide, 76 per cent of people in the city own gold, with 80 per cent of people claiming they will make a gold purchase in the next year.
