New technology 'to improve' gold jewellery craftMonday, 14th January 2008 (2632 views) Manufacturers of machine-made gold chains in Italy are staying ahead of their competition taking advantage of new technology to create lighter-weight items, Reuters reported this weekend.This new technology may also help designers create more sophisticated works of jewellery, which could appeal to middle-end gold consumers. The northern Italian city of Vincenza is currently hosting an international jewellery trade fair, which is set to run until January 20th. Among the events scheduled for this week's Fiera de Vincenza are First - an exhibition of gold jewellery and watches - and T-Gold - an exhibit featuring machines used in the manufacture of gold jewellery and precious metals. In addition, the trade show is set to host a number of presentations, including Gold and Made in Italy: the champion strategy for leadership, Integrated communication in the world of gold jewellery, and Gold of the Americas and the Global Economy. Guests at the event can also attend a gala dinner scheduled for Friday, January 18th.
