Monday, 7th January 2008 (4202 views) A long gold necklace with geometric shapes is the perfect accessory for people who want to dress to impress, according to a Holt Renfrew fashion director.Barbara Atkin, vice-president of fashion direction at the upmarket Canadian retailer, told the Montreal Gazette that a gold necklace is a good way to "punch up" a little black dress during the party season. In addition to gold accessories, guests at a recent Holt Renfrew party were spotted wearing a number of statement pieces, including plaid coats and red pantaloons. "The right accessory adds to an outfit; it does not distract," said Ms Atkin, who sported a gold necklace by Van Der Straeten at the event. In related Canadian style news, according to the Daily News, published in Halifax, Nova Scotia, rose gold has been cited as "the newest metallic to be mined for glam day or night pieces." Quoting InStyle magazine, the newspaper also advised that a gold necklace paired with wedge heels is a must-have look for 2008.
