Gold jewellery from India on display in TexasFriday, 7th December 2007 (2930 views) A collection of gold jewellery from India is on display in a Texas museum until the end of January and could be an interesting site to see over the Christmas holidays, it has been suggested.When Gold Blossoms: Indian Jewellery from the Susan L Beningson Collection has been open to the public at the Dallas Museum of Art from November 18th. Containing 154 pieces of gold jewellery from south India, the exhibit is intended to complement the museums Domains of Wonder collection, which features a series of miniature paintings of people wearing lavish gold items. Set to be displayed until January 27th 2008 in the museum's Focus Gallery I, the collection features a gold pendant dating back to the 18th or early 19th century, which is set with rubies, diamonds and emeralds. Previously, the museum has hosted a number of temporary exhibitions, including Splendours of China's Forbidden City in 2005 and Lords of Creation: The Origins of Sacred Maya Kingship, which was on display last year.
