A new lipstick, designed in France and decorated with solid yellow gold, has been released.

Made by Guerlain, KissKiss Gold and Diamonds lipstick has a casing made of 110 grams of 18-carat gold, studded with diamonds.

The product, an upscale version of the cosmetics company's KissKiss lipstick range, comes in 15 colours – six reds, six pinks and three neutral shades - and retails for $62,000 (£29,488).

Its gold case can be engraved with a customised name or message and can be refilled, according to Guerlain.

Designer Herve Van Der Straeten said that the lipstick represents simplicity and mystery.

"This element of surprise creates curiosity and longing, which is what I hope each woman experiences when she clutches KissKiss Gold and Diamonds in the heart of her hand," he said.

According to Forbes, the lipstick will be available though Guerlain Boutiques at four select retailers in the US from November 7th by appointment only.
