Several lots of ancient gold jewellery are set to go on the auction block at the Bonhams Antiquities Sale on October 26th.

The London auction will feature a variety of ancient gold bracelets, pendants, cameos and earrings of Roman, Persian, Scythian, Bactrian and Anglo-Saxon origin.

"It is a very strong cross section of Ancient Near East work through to our own Anglo-Saxon heritage," said Chantelle Rountree, head of antiquities at Bonhams.

She explained that the items of gold jewellery in the sale are "highly collectible" and that the craftsmanship of the pieces gives them timeless value.

”If you love beautiful ancient things, the jewellery in this sale is worth seeing," Ms Rountree said.

Among the pieces up for auction is a gold bracelet estimated to be 2,500 years old, which could sell for between £30,000 and £50,000, according to Bonhams.

Established in 1793, Bonhams conducts around 700 sales each year.

The auction house's international fine art sale room is located on New Bond Street, London, with nine other sale rooms and 22 offices located in the UK.
