Gold jewellery has been donated to a museum by the family of an award-winning designer, it has been revealed.

Rapaport reports that following the death of the jewellery designer last year, his family has recently decided to honour his talent by donating a collection of Kenneth Brown's jewellery to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

The collection includes a pendant, ring, and earrings set with 18-carat yellow gold and Tahitian pearls and an 18-carat yellow gold and platinum brooch.

"We are so appreciative that Anna entrusted us with her husband's jewellery. This gift will help keep Kenneth's memory alive, and will ensure that generations of students and the public will be able to experience and enjoy his work," Rapaport quoted Kimberly Vagner, project manager for GIA, as saying.

The family also donated a pair of 14-carat white and yellow gold cuff links designed by Pierre Touraine.

Before his death, Mr Brown was working on a pair of gold and platinum spurs.
