$12k gold jewellery stolenFriday, 10th August 2007 (2863 views) Thousands of dollars worth of gold jewellery has been taken from a home near Bridgeton, New Jersey, it has been reported.According to the Bridgeton News, $12,000 (£6,000) worth of jewellery was taken, including a $1,600 gold wedding ring and a $1,500 gold engagement ring. Meanwhile, $750 cash was also taken along with $12,650 of property. In other news, Sullivan Jewellers in Middlebury, Conneticut, was also burgled this week, however despite some gold jewellery being taken, the proprietor told WSFB Hartford that financial loss was not as bad as it could have been as the majority of stock was kept in the vault. "I feel violated by what happened, as most people would," commented Nancy Sullivan, co-owner of the jewellery store. Though she added: "We take all of the expensive stuff in every night and put it in the vault, so the financial hit was minimal." Sullivan Jewellers is the only jewellery store in Middlebury. An "array" of gold jewellery, including gold chains, was taken in the theft.
