Gold ocean-themed watches launched this summerWednesday, 1st August 2007 (2684 views) A new summer line of watches has been launched by Piaget in the Miss Protocole collection, it has been revealed.Luxist reports that the line consists of four watches, featuring images of the sea including starfish, coral and seashells and inlaid with gold and diamonds. The watches are finished in 18-carat yellow and white gold using the Piaget Calibre 57 quartz movement 57P. "The shimmering colours of grand feu enamelling are ideal for images of the sea and its fabulous shells," Piaget claims on its website. It adds: "This summery creation, limited to four watches, comes on a satin strap which can be rapidly and easily changed." According to Piaget, an engraver craftsman etches the design into solid gold and hollows out the required fields, which are then gradually filled. Enamels are crushed into powder before being deposited wet with a fine brush and melted at a temperature of more than 800 degrees Celsius.
