A US boutique and bakery for pets offers, among other canine and feline treats, gold and bejewelled doggy accessories.

The Monterey Herald reports that dog tags encrusted in Swarovski crystals, bejewelled hairclips and a $400 (£200) gold dog-bone pendant with pink sapphires are among the treats on sale at Chateau le Paws.

Other examples of finery tailored for man's best friend available at the store include a $675 diamond and gold bone-shaped necklace and a clothing and accessory range from designer Donald Plinar including a $500 Italian leather jacket with a lizard-skin pattern.

"Everybody's into bling that's for sure," Milan Grba told the newspaper.

The shop additionally caters for canine tastes, stocking cookies shaped like martini glasses, peanut butter bones, peanut butter birthday cakes in chicken, liver and filet mignon flavours.
