The fifth annual Harvest Gold art show opens today (July 13th 2007) in Center Lovell, Maine, US.

Featured in the show will be American crafts and works by artists such as Wade Zahares who will be exhibiting pastel originals and Sue Shane with northern bird watercolours, according to Mount Washington Valley.

Also displayed will be works from artists including Neil and Shari Medley and award-winning metal sculptor Gail Chavenelle, the newspaper reveals.

At the centre of the event will be the gold jewellery collections designed by Lynda and Bill Rudd of Harvest Gold Jewellery.

Harvest Gold Jewellery is a family run business that has been creating jewellery out of gold for 20 years.

Ms Rudd learned the craft from the age of 12 under the instruction of a master goldsmith from Italy before studying jewellery at college. After college, she apprenticed for five years at two different goldsmith studios.

Her husband began learning basic goldsmithing techniques at the studio and studied with Heike Seppa, a master goldsmith from Finland.

Jewellery from the workshop is exhibited globally.
