Managing director of gold jewellery retailer Damas, Tawhid Abdullah, has been presented with the special award of Best Entrepreneurial Mentor at the Mohammad Bin Rashid Awards for Young Business Leaders at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Mr Abdullah was given the commendation by Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

The award was given to recognise Mr Abdullah's commitment to training and preparing the next generation of jewellers in order to take the region forward.

"I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition. This awards programme is a clear demonstration of the strong commitment of the government of Dubai and the private sector in creating a critical mass of future business leaders who will steer the country towards continued prosperity and development," the Damas managing director commented.

Furthermore, the recipient encouraged his colleagues to likewise invest in the future by supporting the country's young entrepreneurs.

Mr Abdullah was previously recognised for his entrepreneurial work when he was awarded the Best Businessman of the Year 2006 title at the Arabian Business Awards.
