Gold jewellery group launches design courseTuesday, 3rd July 2007 (3365 views) The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) has joined forces with the International Gemological Institute (IGI) to arrange a 14-day professional jewellery designing course in Dubai, it has been revealed.AME news reveals that there has been an increased demand for unique jewellery designs in Dubai which has made jewellery designing a prospective career for young designers. K P Baiju, general manager of the DGJG, told AME that the course was introduced due to popular demand and that it had enquiries from people wishing to pursue a career in jewellery design regarding training programmes. 'The aim of the course was to provide jewellery designing enthusiasts with exposure to various facets of the profession so that they can eventually become avant-garde jewellery designers," added Lata Manghnani, brand manager for IGI Dubai. According to AME, students are awarded the IGI diploma in Professional Jewellery Designing, which is recognised worldwide, upon qualification.
